The zoo in Toledo, Ohio has a new resident, and with it comes a claim to fame. An African elephant named Renee gave birth Wednesday to a healthy, 275-pound calf.
It's a rare event, only about a dozen African elephants have been born in North American zoos since the mid-1990s. Renee is a patient creature: her pregnancy lasted 22-months. To find out more visit toledozoo.org.
