Every so often, the Chally Group, which does research into sales effectiveness, surveys customers to find out which vendors they really like doing business with, and why. Chally compiles the responses and then gives awards to the companies that customers praise the most. Chally also creates a final report describing what's working (and what's not) in the world of selling.
What's particularly cool about this research project is that if your firm participates, you get a free copy of the summary results from what your clients had to say about you and your competitors and a copy of the final report, which (based on the previous reports, which I've seen) have plenty of strategic and tactical information that can help you sell better in the future. And there's always a possibility that YOUR customers will praise your firm highly enough so that YOU end up with an award!
