All About the X-Files
A CD ROM for devoted fans of the X-Files. It is a TV show with a big following. Soon to be a movie. And for fans who just can't get enough, Fox Interactive is out with The X-Files, Unrestricted Access. The disc was created by Byron Preiss multimedia where Byron Preiss saysÂ…
"Fox Interactive, who publishes X-Files, Unrestricted Access, wanted to do the ultimate guide and the ultimate secret guide to the TV show that would allow people who were watching the show to go online and get additional summaries of exactly what was going on with the show and the inside scoop of what was going on with the show and also would allow the general X-Files fan to use there computer to surf all of the secrets of the X-Files and see things that they couldn't possibly see on television such as Quicktime VR tours of Muldur's office, props and creatures from the shows that they could rotate and review in 3D."
Not to mention complete episode guides. How many X-Files fans are into computers as well? Preiss believes an awful lotÂ…
"I think there's probably an 80 or 90 percent overlap between science fiction fans and computing, from everything I've read. And the X-Files probably hits that right on the bulls-eye. The Unrestricted Access disc also lets you customize your desktop with a whole bunch of never before seen X-Files materials, which is probably the coolest way to show you're an X-Files devotee."
It runs on Windows 95 and sells for under 30 dollars. You can find more information at foxinteractive.com/products/xfua.
