Al McGuire
This is Al McGuire's seventh year as a CBS Sports tournament analyst.
McGuire spent 16 years with NBC Sports (1977-92), including four seasons (1977-81) teamed with Dick Enberg and current CBS Sports lead analyst Billy Packer.
He played college basketball at St. John's (1948-51), played for the NBA's New York Knicks (1951-52) and Baltimore Bullets (1954), and was elected to the NBA Hall of Fame (1992).
McGuire served as an assistant coach at Dartmouth (1955-56), and head coach at Belmont Abbey (1957-63) and Marquette University (1964-77).
McGuire's Marquette teams went 295-80 over 13 seasons with 11 consecutive post-season appearances, including a runner-up finish in 1974 NCAA tournament and a national championship in 1977. The team also won the National Invitation Tournament in 1970. McGuire was also named college coach of the year (1971, 1976).
Born Sept. 7, 1928, McGuire lives in Milwaukee, Wisc., with his wife. They have three children.
