Al Libi Issues New Book In Defense Of AQIM Fighters

Al Fajr media released a new 35-page document drafted by senior al Qaeda commander Abu Yehya al Libi, in which he defended members of al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) against the criticism leveled against them in the Algerian media. Al Libi refuted accusations that many of those killed in recent AQIM attacks were civilians and said that those who promote such claims are doing so in order to tarnish the image of the Islamist militants in the Maghreb. He also voiced his support of operations carried out by the group, claiming that religious texts support acting against "the infidels" and their "traitor agents" in North African countries.
