Ad Network Undertone Networks Takes Investment From JMI Equity

Undertone Networks, an ad network targeting premium publishers, says it has taken an unspecified investment from PE firm JMI Equity. Undertone, which counts ESPN.com, Morningstar and Discovery as media partners, says the funding will allow it to expand its operations internationally, as well as domestically, and will go towards new product development. NYC-based Undertone is a division of Intercept Interactive, a provider of interactive marketing services. The ad network business was launched in 2002 and shares Mark Cassidy as CEO with Intercept.
