A Reward For Good Grades

Since its debut just two years ago, the boy band B2K has created a successful sound to call its own.

The group's first two albums went platinum, featuring chart-topping singles and gathering numerous awards. But more importantly, B2K aced the true test of teen idols - their photos adorn the bedroom walls of many of their fans.

"They are very cute. They are more than cute. They are fine," said B2K fan Diamond Williams. "All of them, like the Lakers."

The 12-year-old fan's fondness for the band, and good grades in school prompted her father, Wayne Edwards, to write our "Week of Wishes."

He wrote:

"My daughter, whose name is Diamond, will be 12 years old. According to her teachers, she's a pleasure to teach; and if you ask her friends, she always has an ear to lend. Far as I'm concerned, she's just an all-around great kid. Now the problem: [I am] currently drawing unemployment. My fear is that when her birthday gets here, I won't have the money to buy her the gifts she so richly deserves."

But harsh economic times have not prevented the family from being a close unit. Father and daughter spend quality time by doing things together, such as playing video games.

"That's our father-daughter time together," said Edwards. "I use that time to understand what's happening in her world."

And as dad has learned, it is a world filled with affection for B2K, which brings us back to Edward's wish.

"If I had one wish, forget myself, I'd like to use that wish for Diamond," he wrote. "She loves a group called B2K. I would like to make it possible for her to meet them."

So, The Early Show sent Diamond and her dad to Los Angeles where they were invited to watch courtside as B2K filmed scenes for their upcoming debut film, "You Got Served."

"Look at Boog, look at Fizz, look at Omarion. He looked at me. Oh my God, he looked at me, Dad," Diamond excitedly screeched at the film set.

After a little time to regain her composure, the film's director and B2K manager, Chris Stokes, led Diamond to center court where she was able to embrace each of her idols — Omarion, J-Boog, Raz-B, and Lil Fizz, as well as singer Marques Houston, who joined the group for the exclusive performance.

The group made Diamond feel comfortable and offered her some tickets to their "Scream Tour Three" concert.

Diamond's day with B2K ended with an autograph session, a bit of juggling and an encore birthday performance — making the girl happy, thanks to her dad.
