10 Cities With the Most Fiscally Fit Men

Your financial health apparently depends a lot on where you live, or so says Men's Health magazine, which recently compiled a listing of the fiscal health of manly men living in 100 cities.

(This is one of two parts. Click here for 10 cities where the men are poor.)
Their rankings took into account the personal bankruptcy rate; average credit scores; debt levels; the percentage of the population making late payments on their bills; foreclosure rates; the percentage of people paying more than 30% of their income on housing; and the percentage contributing to their 401(k) plans -- in other words, pretty much anything you can tabulate to tell whether you're living on the economic edge.

Their findings? The top cities for Men's fiscal fitness are:

1. Lincoln, Nebraska

2. Madison, Wisconsin

3. Sioux Falls, South Dakota

4. Des Moines, Iowa

5. Wichita, Kansas

6. Billings, Montana

7. Omaha, Nebraska

8. Boston, Massachusetts

9. Fargo, North Dakota

10. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

This is part of the magazine's bigger-picture look at financial fitness of the average guy -- an interesting examination of how much men earn; save; have stashed for emergencies. If you want to see how financially fit the men are in your city, you can find the full list here.
