Report: Pouncey Served With Hernandez Grand Jury Subpoena

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey came home with not only a loss to the New England Patriots, but also a grand jury subpoena from the Massachusetts State Police.

Police served Pouncey with the subpoena after the game and according to, the subpoena has to do with Aaron Hernandez and the possibility of his possible involvement in interstate gun trafficking.

The Dolphins, as is typical on legal matter, refused to comment as an organization and also said Pouncey had no comment, according to

According to, neither the Patriots nor Dolphins knew that Pouncey was about to be served with a subpoena. But, immediately after the game a total of seven police officers were just outside the locker room and speaking with NFL Security officials, according to the report. said that a source told the website that shortly after the first murder investigation began, looking at the Lloyd murder, "signs that Hernandez was involved with a large-scale, multi-state gun running operation began to emerge."

Pouncey has not been implicated in any crimes in the case and is being viewed by authorities as a material witness who could help the case.

Pouncey and his brother Maurkice both caught flak earlier this year when they were photographed wearing "Free Hernandez" hats at a night club. Maurkice apologized through the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mike has not apologized for his actions.
