Florida Man Accused Of Drugging, Sexually Assaulting 15-Year-Old Girl

MIRAMAR (CBSMiami) – Miramar police have arrested a man for drugging and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.

That girl is currently listed in critical condition.

Police say 18-year-old Jorge Martinez met the victim at a party she was throwing at her Miramar home on Monday.

According to police, Martinez gave the victim Percocet that caused her to overdose. Videos of the alleged assault were posted by Martinez on social media.

In court on Thursday, investigators said the girl's outlook is bleak, saying she was without oxygen to her brain for about 28 minutes, causing her to suffer organ failure and internal bleeding.

Martinez appeared to lose his footing hearing that in bond court.

Investigators say this all happened earlier this week at a home Martinez was staying at in Miramar after the victim met him at a party she hosted.

"We have a 15-year-old that basically threw a party, she shared the invite on social media," said Taina Rues with Miramar Police. "Unfortunately it got out of hand. People showed up at the party that were unknown to the victim. Mr. Martinez was unknown to the victim."

Police say friends realized the victim was in trouble when they saw video posted on social media. Police say the video showed her naked body lying face down on a couch in a social media post.

"Mr. Martinez posted video on social media and several of the victim's friends saw this video and confronted him," said Rues. "There was an individual who went back to the home and noticed her friend, her lips were turning blue, she was not conscious."

A friend performed CPR and then the suspect and others put the victim in a car and drove her to a hospital miles away.

Brandon Dasent, a friend of the victim, says he and his friends got into a fight with Martinez that was also recorded on social media.

"We met up later. I punched him a few times do what I did made his face a mess, then police came and arrested him," said Dasent.

"The defendant and other associates could have taken her to a hospital much closer, minutes away, but chose to take her to one an hour away in rush hour traffic into Dade County, which probably attributed to her accelerated statues."

Martinez got a fat lip after getting into a fight with the victim's friends. He's being held in jail on $550,000 bond.

The victim is currently being treated at Nicklaus Children's Hospital.
