Suspect in $100 million jewelry heist avoids prosecution by getting deported

A man accused of being a part of what's been described as the largest jewelry heist in the U.S. was deported as federal prosecutors gathered their case against him. The U.S. Attorney's Office said it was unaware that its immigration counterparts were deporting the man, according to court records.
