City of LA issues first civil rights citation to Smart & Final for discrimination
The City of Los Angeles has issued its first citation under the Civil and Human Rights Law to grocery chain Smart & Final for an incident in Sept. 2022, when a Black man was told to leave his bag at the front of the store even though other shoppers weren't asked to do the same.
