The 22-year-old suspect allegedly became angry after being told there were no more tickets available to an Ice Cube concert at the racetrack.
She pulled out what looked like a handgun and pointed it at the officers, prompting them to open fire on her, authorities said.
According to sources at the scene, the shooting occurred over a heated argument concerning a parking space at the Desert Village Apartment Complex, with a man being shot in the abdomen.
Police say Hugo Sanchez was apparently pumping gas at a station on Edinger Avenue and Grand Street when he was forced into his car and ordered to drive before being shot.
Deputies found the woman in a Jeep with an Uber decal on the window. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A woman, who is believed to be the wife of the victim, has been arrested. Investigators say they have recovered the murder weapon.
