A 28-year-old man was found shot dead at a homeless encampment in South Gate, authorities said Saturday.
An adult male was pronounced dead at the scene. There were two others injured in the shooting, one juvenile and another adult. They were both transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
James Vargas was walking to get tacos with his wife and two children early Sunday morning when a man approached the father and shot him.
The victim, who died on the scene, was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
