According to the LAFD, the driver continued to a gas station near Soto and Olympic following the incident.
Dan Black Hall at Cal State Fullerton is under evacuation due to a chemical spill and fire, according to CSU Fullerton PD.
The firefighter was identified as Captain David Rosa, a 17-year veteran of the Long Beach Fire Department, and a captain for the past 6 years.
No injuries were reported but 21 people have been displaced.
While searching Beal's home, authorities describe finding improvised explosive devices, three firearms, a 7-foot-tall rocket and 130 pounds of explosives.
