Yucaipa baby reported missing, parents beg for his safe return

The mother of a 7-month-old baby who was taken Thursday night while she changed his diaper in her car, pleaded for her son's return.

"I'm begging you please, if you know anything, I'm begging you please bring him back," Rebecca Haro said of her son Emmanuel.

Haro reported being attacked outside a Yucaipa retail store around 7:45 p.m. in the 34500 block of Yucaipa Boulevard.

She said her family was in the area for another child's football practice, when she took her youngest of six children, Emmanuel, with her to the store to get a mouthpiece for her older son.

Before going into the store, she said she started to change the baby's diaper. She took him out of the car seat and placed him on the chair. At that moment, she said she was hit from behind and Emmanuel was taken.  "Someone said, 'Hola.' I couldn't even turn, I don't remember nothing," Haro said.

San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputies and K9 units responded Thursday night with scent-tracking dogs and searched for the child and any possible suspects.

On Friday, Haro, her husband, and friends showed up at the Big 5 parking lot in Yucaipa to hand out flyers, desperate for Emmanuel's return.

"To the person who took my son, please just give him back to us we'll forgive you. We won't bother you, we just want our baby boy," Emmanuel's father, Jake Haro, said.

Investigators said Emmanuel was last seen wearing a black Nike onesie. He weighs about 21 pounds, is 24 inches tall, has brown hair, brown eyes, and is cross-eyed.

Deputies continue their investigation, and the baby has not been located yet. Anyone with information can call 911 or Sheriff's Dispatch at (909) 387-8313.
