Woman's Body Found In Big Bear Lake

BIG BEAR (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Thursday morning found the body of a woman in Big Bear Lake.

The body was found during an aerial search for a missing hiker around 10 a.m. in the south shore area of the lake, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said.

"Search and Rescue and department personnel responded to the area and confirmed it to be a body of a deceased female," officials said.

A deputy told CBS2/KCAL9 that search dogs help to pinpoint the location of the woman's body Wednesday.

Lisa Ann Cimbaluk was reported missing on Dec. 30 by family members after she was last seen at her home the day before, the Irvine Police Department said.

Deputies say Cimbaluk left without telling anyone and was not an experienced hiker. She was not carrying a cellphone.

The 35-year-old's snow-covered vehicle was found Sunday by San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies near the base of a hiking trail in Fawnskin near Big Bear Lake.

Crews searched the area since the car was discovered. It was unclear if the search for Cimbaluk had been called off.

The San Bernardino County Coroner has yet to release the cause of death or positively identify the body as Cimbaluk.
