GLENDORA (CBSLA.com) — Campers who were evacuated because of the Williams fire will have an opportunity to retrieve their belongings on Saturday.
Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies are expected to escort about 2,000 campers back into the area starting at 9 a.m.
The area will remain closed to recreational camping while crews continue to knock down the blaze.
The fire, which broke out over Labor Day weekend, burned nearly 4,200 acres.
It is 78 percent contained with full containment expected by Thursday.
The cause remains under investigation.
