In Quebec, Canada, Dany Lariviere dropped off this birthday present for his wife. All 20 tons of it. On her driveway. Then he wrote "Happy birthday, Isa," and tied a pink ribbon to the top of the rock.
It gets better: he's the mayor of a town, nearby. Well of course, they're divorced. Lariviere apparently owns an excavating company, so getting the boulder from a quarry and driving a heavy-load lifter to her place wasn't hard. Full article, in the Winnipeg Free Press.
The cops are looking into it; they might charge him with 'mischief' and maybe some driving charge. Lariviere's ex-mother-in-law says what he did was 'disgusting.' He doesn't care. Gotta admire somebody who walks the walk.
