This Monday, see the acclaimed Broadway cabaret group, Standing Room Only. After garnering audience acclaim and playing to sold out venues, the show makes its move to one of L.A.'s highest regarded showrooms. Head to Vitello's in the evening for a night of good food, drinks and songs. Hosted by Broadway stars Kate Pazakis and Michael-Leon Wooley, this live music is inexpensive and will leave you wanting more when it's over. Doors open at 7pm and the show begins at 8pm. If you're looking for an interesting event this week, head to the LA County Museum of Art for a one night exploration of the cultural and artistic importance of color photography. Sylvie Pénichon will discuss the current state of fine art photography as well as tips on identification, care, and preservation guidelines for photography collectors. In addition, Ms. Pénichon will be available for book signings after the event, which begins at 7:30pm in Brown Auditorium.

This Wednesday, take a mid week day trip to Fillmore and hop aboard the North Pole Express towards Santa's Village at the Fillmore & Western Railway Company. Each Wednesday-Sunday night through Christmas, you can ride a decked out vintage train, listen to carols, visit with Santa and his elves, enjoy tasty treats, and much more. The historic trains of Fillmore & Western and located in historic downtown Fillmore and the passenger coach cars as well as dining cars date back to the 1930's and 1940's giving your ride on the train a truly authentic and historical feel. So, venture back in time this Wednesday as you visit Fillmore.

The deep freeze has taken over the Queen Mary this holiday season. A giant dome, which was one home to the legendary Spruce Gooce, has been frozen over and transformed into a huge igloo making way for The Ice Kingdom - an astounding and inspiring exhibit with over the top ice creations which are as high as a 2.5 story building. In addition to the great Ice Kingdom, CHILL also offers ice skating outdoors, tubing across cool frosty snow, and great shopping at the holiday village. 2 million tons of ice have been transformed into a 9 degree colorful winter wonderland making CHILL the perfect holiday event for a date night or family outing.

Saturday offers up something special this week. Marina Del Rey's annual boat parade kicks off with a grand fireworks show followed by a two hour parade of spectacular lights on water. Boats are adorned with lights competing to be the best year after year. And this year is no different. Thousands who live in the Marina and thousands that dont come to see the annual boat parade and get into the holiday spirit. Aside from the boats with spectacular holiday lights floating through the marina, don't forget to check out the floating Christmas tree which is on a raft out in the middle of the marina. You can view the parade from anywhere in the marina, although Burton Chace Park is one of the most popular spots where you can enjoy live music, and commentary from the announcers. Head to Whisky RED's after the parade for 50% off drink specials. 6-8pm.
