Weaver Rebounds From Rough Start As Angels Beat Brewers 8-1
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- Angels ace Jered Weaver rebounded from a rough start with four strong innings Saturday and the Los Angeles Angels' beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-1.
Weaver allowed two hits and a run. In his previous outing he was tagged by the Dodgers for three runs in 1 1-3 innings.
Vernon Wells doubled in two runs in the Angels' three-run first. Mark Trumbo added a sacrifice fly off Brewers' starter Mike Fiers.
Fiers, the Brewers' 2011 minor league pitcher of the year, worked three innings and allowed three runs and three hits with two strikeouts.
