Vin Diesel Reveals 'Fast & Furious 7' Release Date

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Actor Vin Diesel revealed on Facebook Sunday night the release date for "Fast and Furious 7", which was delayed following the death of his co-star Paul Walker.

Diesel announced to fans on his Facebook page the movie is scheduled to be released April 10, 2015.

"The last scene we filmed together…There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing… the magic captured… and, in just how far we've come…Fast and Furious 7 will be released…...April 10th 2015! P.s. He'd want you to know first…," he said.

Production on the seventh installment of the franchise began in September, and the film was on track to be released in July 2014.

Universal Pictures announced on Dec. 4 production for the movie was put on hold following the Nov. 30 dead of 40-year-old Walker and his friend Roger Rodas who were killed in a fiery crash following a charity event in Santa Clarita.

Investigators believe speed was the cause of the crash.

It was unclear whether Walker, who played an undercover agent Brian O'Conner, will star in the 7th film.

The "Fast and Furious" franchise has earned $2.3 billion worldwide since the first movie was released in 2001.
