USC Officer Shoots Man Suspected Of Robbing 4 Students At Gunpoint
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A public safety officer shot a man suspected of robbing four USC students at gunpoint near the university campus Wednesday morning.
The suspect was shot at Shrine Place and West 30th Street after the students flagged down a campus officer around 1 a.m. to report that they had been robbed by an armed man wearing a ski mask.
The alleged robber, who suffered a gunshot wound to his stomach, was transported to a local hospital. He is expected to survive.
The suspect is expected to be charged with armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.
Two graduate students, Ying Wu and Ming Qu, were shot and killed near campus last week.
A $200,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of their killer.
It was unknown if the two incidents were related.
