LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Thousands of demonstrators gathered Sunday in downtown Los Angeles for a march demanding congress impeach President Donald Trump.
Massive crowds marched from Pershing Square to Fletcher-Bowron Square to urge lawmakers to impeach the president.
The Los Angeles march was one of 45 sister marches across the nation including Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco and Ventura.
March organizers believe Trump has violated the U.S. constitution and obstructed justice.
"We believe president Trump has committed constitutional breaches, consistently lied, cheated, and enforces laws that primarily benefit him and his billionaire friends at the expense of the country," says the organization's website, impeachmentmarch.org.
Trump supporters also held a counter-protest to rally in support for his 2020 re-election.
CBS 2's Greg Mills was out speaking to people on both sides of the argument.
"We are here to impeach Trump," said Jessie Thorpe.
"We are here in support of our president, Donald Trump," said Raul Rodriguez.
The people favor or impeachment easily outnumbered those supporting the 45th president.
Kareema Abdul-Khabir is Muslim and says she feels targeted by the president.
"Everyone is a target by him, yes," she said, "I'm targeted from a different angle."
For Carol Archambeault the reason to impeach Trump is clear and obvious.
"Every day it's something new," she said, "I'm here to try to get our dignity back again. I'm just appalled at everything that's going on."
