Firefighters rescued a tree trimmer who was stuck more than two dozen feet in the air after he was electrocuted in Westwood on Saturday.

It happened at around 11 a.m., at which point firefighters were dispatched to the 1300 block of S. Comstock Avenue, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Upon arrival, crews found the man, believed to be in his 40s, dangling about 25 feet in the air, LAFD's statement.

Before they could rescue him, firefighters waited for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power to de-energize the pole-to-house high-voltage wires. Once it was confirmed safe, they were able to retrieve him and bring him to the ground.

Though alert and oriented at the time of his rescue, the man was taken to a nearby hospital for further assessment, firefighters said.

No further information was provided.
