Transient Charged With Breaking Into Frances Cobain's Home To Do Laundry
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A homeless man was charged Tuesday with breaking into the West Hollywood home of the daughters of singers Courtney Love and the late Kurt Cobain so he could do his laundry.
Marc James Franco will be arraigned Tuesday afternoon on felony count of first-degree burglary with a person present, officials said. Prosecutors are expected to ask a judge to set Franco's bail at $500,000.
One of Frances Cobain's relatives, who was at the home to care for her dog while she was out of town, found Franco inside the home Saturday, doing his laundry, authorities said.
The relative called police even though Franco claimed to be a friend of Frances Cobain, and he was arrested after police confirmed with Cobain that she did not know him, according to the District Attorney's Office.
If convicted, Franco faces up to six years in state prison.
