The Victims Of The Thousand Oaks Massacre

THOUSAND OAKS (CBSLA) -- Twelve people were shot and killed by a gunman at a Thousand Oaks bar Wednesday night.
Here are the victims that have been identified so far:

Ron Helus

Sgt. Ron Helus was a 29-year-veteran of the Ventura County Sheriff's Office. He was one of the first law enforcement officers to respond to the scene.

He was set to retire next year, officials said. Helus is survived by his wife and son.

"Ron was a hardworking, dedicated sheriff's sergeant. He was totally committed, he gave his all and tonight, as I told his wife, he died a hero. He went in to save lives, to save other people," Sheriff Geoff Dean said.

Alaina Housley

Alaina Housley, the niece of actress Tamera Mowry, was an 18-year-old freshman at Pepperdine University.

"Our hearts are broken," a statement from her family read. "We just learned that our niece Alaina was one of the victims of last night's shooting at Borderline bar in Thousand Oaks. Alaina was an incredible young woman with so much life ahead of her and we are devastated that her life was cut short in this manner


Cody Coffman

22-year-old Cody Coffman had just turned 22 and was preparing to join the Army, his father said. He was a head umpire for the Pony Baseball League.

"I talked to him last night before he headed out the door," his father Jason Coffman told reporters. "First thing I said is, 'please don't drink and drive.' Last thing I said is, 'I love you.'"

Justin Meek

Justin Meek, 23, was a recent graduate of California Lutheran University and was a bouncer at the Borderline Bar & Grill.

Cal Lutheran released the following statement:

"The Cal Lutheran community is filled with sorrow over the violent events that took place last night a few miles from campus in Thousand Oaks. Sadly, we have learned from the family that a recent graduate, Justin Meek, 23, is one of the precious lives cut short in this tragedy. Meek heroically saved lives in the incident."


Sean Adler of Simi Valley

Sean Adler

Sean Adler was from Simi Valley.

He owned Rivalry Roasters coffee shop. Friends told CBS2 he was a father of two children.

"He has a couple kids that he adored and loved... a great man... he loved to protect people, he just was a sound guy," his friend Todd told CBS2.

 


Noel Sparks

Noel Sparks, 21, was confirmed as a victim of the Thousand Oaks mass shooting.

Sparks was a youth camp leader and Moorpark College student. Rev. Dr. Walter Dilg, senior pastor at the United Methodist Church Westlake Village, said that Sparks was active at the church as a child, serving on the choir and Sunday groups.


Kristina Morisette

Kristina Morisette, 20, from Simi Valley, was confirmed as a victim of the Thousand Oaks mass shooting.

Morisette worked as a cashier at the front door of Borderline Bar & Grill.

 


Jake Dunham

Jake Dunham, 21, of Newbury Park, was confirmed as a victim of the Thousand Oaks mass shooting.

 

 

 


Blake Dingman

Blake Dingman, 21, was confirmed as a victim of the Thousand Oaks mass shooting.

 

 

 

 


Telemachus Orfanos

Telemachus Orfanos, 27, was confirmed as a victim of the Thousand Oaks mass shooting.

Orfanos grew up in Thousand Oaks and survived the Las Vegas mass shooting a year ago.

 


Daniel Manrique

Daniel Manrique, 33, was confirmed as a victim of the Thousand Oaks mass shooting.

Manrique was a Marine Corps. veteran who helped veterans adjust to civilian life as a program manager at an LA-based nonprofit. He was an enthusiastic Dodgers fan.
