The Pet Food Pantry Hosts A Pet Food Drive At West Hollywood Pavilions

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — The Pet Food Pantry is hosting a pet food drive Monday at the West Hollywood Pavilions.

The organization set up a table to collect dog and cat food donations from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 8969 Santa Monica Blvd.

The Pet Food Pantry provides donated pet food to clients who utilize SOVA, a community food bank in Van Nuys, West Los Angeles and West Hollywood.

"Our mission is to prevent abandoned and surrendered pets by supplying families in need with food for their pets," the organization says on its website. "To ensure that no pet goes hungry, the pantry provides free dog and cat food to anyone in financial crisis, counsels pet owners on proper nutrition for their pet and provides information on free and low cost spay and neuter programs."

The Pet Food Pantry delivered nearly 3,000 pounds of pet food to SOVA in August 2012 and another 2,000 pounds in December to help feed pets through the holiday season.
