Teen Severely Beaten Outside Anaheim Apartment Complex

ANAHEIM (CBS) —  A 17-year-old boy was nearly beaten to death during an assault outside an apartment complex in Anaheim, a police sergeant said.

Police responded to the building in the 1800 block of West Glen Avenue after receiving two calls about 5 a.m. Sunday, one of which reported a fight on the sidewalk in front of the building, Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez said.

When officers arrived, they found a teenage boy severely beaten in the face. He was rushed to an area hospital where he is said to be in critical condition.

Police believe several people were involved in the fight, which may have been gang-related.
