Suspect Nabbed In Santa Clarita Deputy-Involved Shooting
SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — The suspect who allegedly pointed a gun at deputies on Wednesday has been taken into custody.
Corey Keiffer, 28, reportedly aimed a handgun at deputies about 7:20 p.m. near Adon Avenue and Sierra Highway.
Deputies fired at the suspect -- described as a transient -- but he was able to flee. An overnight search turned up nothing, according to officials.
Keiffer was arrested Saturday about 9:45 a.m. without incident. He was also wanted on an unrelated no-bail arrest warrant for burglary.
Deputy Kim Manatt of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau said deputies stopped Keiffer while he was riding a bicycle. After he abandoned the bike, he ran to a wash area.,
As deputies gave chase, he allegedly aimed a gun.
