Suspect At Large After Struggling With Officer In Woodland Hills
WOODLAND HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A Los Angeles police officer was injured Friday while struggling with a suspect who escaped, prompting a dragnet through a West Valley neighborhood.
The suspect was being arrested at about 9 a.m. near a McDonalds at Vanowen Street and De Soto Avenue when he apparently broke free and ran away, according to Los Angeles police. The officer apparently fell and hit his head while pursuing the suspect.
A modified Tactical Alert was in effect for a time in the Topanga Station's jurisdiction while a search was conducted for the reportedly handcuffed suspect, who remains at large. Police set up a perimeter for about three hours, but were unable to find the suspect.
It's not immediately clear what prompted the initial confrontation.
