Storefront Windows Of Louis Vuitton, Saks Fifth Avenue On Rodeo Drive Damaged

BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA) — Authorities on Sunday were investigating the circumstances surrounding two incidences in Beverly Hills that resulted in windows to two stores being smashed.

"This used to be the safest city in the west but it's not anymore," said shopper Salvano Fino. "Anybody can come and just take and it's just getting very easy for them."

Beverly Hills police said officers responded Sunday to reports of a window smashed near the 200 block of Rodeo Drive. When they arrived, they located two storefronts that had windows smashed.

The damaged storefronts included Louis Vuitton and Saks Fifth Avenue. Police said no merchandise was taken from either store.

The suspects remain at large and the incident remains under investigation. There has been a recent rash of lootings throughout California with authorities in Walnut Creek in Northern California, investigating a robbery in a Nordstrom where looters terrorized shoppers, assaulted employees and stole merchandise on Saturday. Another instance happened on Friday night when a Louis Vitton store in San Francisco's Union Square where suspects robbed the store at about 8 p.m. when customers were still in the store.

"It's unacceptable like why would they be doing this?" said shopper Patience Robertson. Just get a job. Go to work. It's just making everybody feel unsafe and just terrible."

Beverly Hills police said they will increase patrol on Rodeo Drive in response to the incident.
