Singer Neil Sedaka Teams Up With Son To Create New Kids Book 'Dinosaur Pet'

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — Internationally acclaimed performer and Songwriter Hall of Famer with a six-decade career and sales of over 60 million records to his credit, Neil Sedaka stopped by the KCAL9 studios Wednesday to talk about his new book!

Sedaka is best-known for his songs "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" and "Happy Birthday, Sweet Sixteen."

Sedaka and his son, screenwriter and author Marc, wrote "Dinosaur Pet" along with its companion CD.

Marc, who is the father of three children, creates new kid-friendly lyrics for the classic song (sung by Neil), making up a whimsical, colorful picture book. The package comes complete with a companion CD. On the title track, "Dinosaur Pet," Marc's kids provide the backup vocals. The CD also features two brand new children's songs, "She Moved Away" and "The Tooth Fairy," both written and recorded by Neil especially for this book.

"Dinosaur Pet" marks the second chapter in Neil's newfound career as a children's book author, following on the heels of his bestseller, Waking Up is Hard to Do.

The book and CD are now is stores everywhere for $17.95.
