Shakey-Quakey Mobile Earthquake Station Gives Lessons On Preparedness In South Robertson

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A local community got a life-saving loan quake preparedness Sunday.

The Shakey-Quakey, a mobile earthquake station operated by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, made its way to the South Robertson area.

Residents stepped inside and got to experience the power of a moderate quake.

"We go to churches, schools, block parties. We have a website that you can go on and apply for the Shakey-Quakey to come, and we will teach kids and adults about earthquake preparedness," LACoFD Public Information Officer Robert Baker said.

Sunday's demonstration in the South Robertson area is considered one of the largest annual quake preparededness events in the Southland.
