Sexual Assault Suspect Sought In Fullerton

FULLERTON (CBSLA.com) — Police need the public's help identifying a man who sexually assaulted a teenager as she walked in a Fullerton apartment complex.

A 19-year-old woman was approached by a man as she walked up the stairs of an apartment complex in the area of Malden and Wilshire Avenues on Aug. 8, police said.

The suspect, who the woman had seen loitering at the complex about 30 minutes before she was attacked, stepped in front of her, blocking her path. He then pushed her up against a wall, where he sexually assaulted her, according to police.

The woman screamed and hit the suspect with her cell phone. He released his grip, and she was able to flee.

The suspect was described as a male Hispanic with dark skin, 30 to 49 years old, about 5-foot-6 and around 200 pounds. He had black hair and brown eyes, was clean shaven and was wearing a red baseball-style cap with an unknown log on the front.

Anyone recognizing the suspect or having information about the assault can contact Detective Ron Bair at (714) 738-7672.
