Search Intensifies For Missing OC Couple Last Seen Leaving Casino Near San Diego

ANAHEIM (  —   The search effort for a missing Orange County couple is being focused on an area where their images were last captured on security cameras.

KCAL9's Jeff Nguyen spoke to family member Robert Acosta. The missing couple are his mother and step-father.

Acosta has been at the Fullerton mobile home of Cecil Knutson and Dianna Bedwell around the clock since he learned the couple was missing. He's also there in the hopes they just show up.

Acosta says he has new hope in the search for the missing pair.

"God sent me a sign," he said.

On Wednesday, he tracked down security camera video of what's believed to be the couple's white Hyundai Sonata making a turn near the Valley View Casino in San Diego County.

Security camera photos showed the pair leaving the casino around 2 in the afternoon on Mother's Day.

Acosta says the images have helped him focus his search.

"At least it's a little news. Small as it sounds this is huge for me. I've been doing circles in this whole are since Sunday," Acosta said.

A group of volunteers called Team Amber has been searching the Valley View area.

They're handing out pictures of the missing couple who both have medical issues.

"They could be anywhere. They could be walking in the mall right now. We want their face everywhere cross country," said one searcher.

Team Amber plans to set up a command center this weekend to step up the search effort.
