Search Continues For 4 Robbery Suspects Accused Of Assaulting 87-Year-Old Man

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities continued to search Monday for four suspects accused of assaulting and robbing an 87-year-old man.

According to the Pasadena Police Department, the victim walked around 5 a.m. Friday in the area of the Rose Bowl on West Drive, just north of Salvia Canyon Road, when four suspects assaulted him and stole his pouch that contained money and identification.

Other pedestrians who exercised in the area located the victim, who suffered from major head trauma, on the ground and called 911.

He has remained hospitalized in critical condition since Saturday evening.

The suspects fled in a black 2003 or 2004 Honda Accord coupe with a sunroof, detectives said.

Officers said the suspects then attempted to use the victim's credit card at a service station, which was captured on surveillance video.

Detectives described the four suspects as the following:

  • A Hispanic man in his 20s with a medium build, dark hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, light-colored shorts and tennis shoes.
  • A Hispanic man in his early 20s with a thin build and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a dark, hooded sweater with a circular design on the front, light-colored shorts and black and white tennis shoes.
  • A Hispanic an in his 20s with a stocky build and thick eyebrows. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and dark-colored pants.
  • A Hispanic female teenager with long, brown hair. She was last seen wearing a dark, hooded sweat shirt with white lettering on the front.

The investigation is ongoing.
