Pacific Asia Museum is among the few institutions in the United States dedicated exclusively to the arts and culture of Asia and the Pacific Islands. The museum's mission is to further intercultural understanding through the arts of Asia and the Pacific Islands.

With over 4,000 people in attendance last year, it is expected that 2012, The Year of The Dragon, will start off with an even bigger turn-out filled with hands-on art activities, music and dancing. Performances include a Lion Dance by the San Gabriel Valley Chinese Cultural Association, a Sumo demonstration with Sumo champion Byamba and Taiko Drumming by Taiko Center of Los Angeles.

In addition to beautifully choreographed dances, several artists from Jiangsu province, China, will present paper cutting and sugar art workshops. There will also be a Puppetry Performance by the award winning Yangzhou Puppet Troupe. Throughout the week, the artists will also present workshops to schools and community groups in observance of "2012 Happy Chinese New Year-Jiangsu Cultural Week." For more information, reservations and to view a schedule of events, please refer to the Pacific Asia Museum's Event Calendar.

The celebration does not end there. Serving up a sensory overload of delicious Vietnamese and Taiwanese cuisine and drinks, will be the legendary Nom Nom and The Mighty Boba Trucks. For visitors craving something sweet, LA's first gourmet cookies & ice cream truck, Paradise Cookies, will also be present.

Time: 11:00 - 5:00 PM
