Reported $100K In Watches Taken In Robbery At Malibu Jewelry Store
MALIBU (CBSLA.com) — Four robbers made off with a reported $100,000 in high-end watches after spraying Mace in a jewelry boutique at the Malibu Country Mart Tuesday, authorities said.
The robbery at Westime Malibu at 3832 Cross Creek Road took place just after 10:30 a.m., sheriff's Lt. Edward Winslow said.
According to reports, the watches taken were valued as high as $100,000, but sheriff's officials say they don't have that information yet.
"We got some detectives out there right now. It appears to be a robbery," Winslow said around 11:45 a.m. "It's (the investigation) very active right now. We don't know exactly who may have gotten Maced."
No injuries were reported and suspect information was not yet available, he said.
