3 Injured When Pursuit Suspect Flips Vehicle Outside Norm's Restaurant, Barely Missing Window

HUNTINGTON PARK (CBSLA) — Three people were injured Tuesday night when a pursuit suspect flipped his vehicle outside a Norm's Restaurant, barely missing the building.

Police were in pursuit of a robbery suspect when the vehicle involved, a dark grey Infiniti, crashed into a SUV and flipped at Malabar St. and Slauson Ave. just feet away from the restaurant's window.

A customer told CBS2/KCAL9's Laurie Perez a table of 12-15 people was right next to the window at the time of the crash. The condition of those injured was not immediately known.

The restaurant remained open for service and patrons could be seen enjoying their meals shortly after the incident, although glass was cracked just inches from a table.

The suspect, described as a Hispanic male, bailed from the scene on foot. After two hours, authorities found him in a backyard and arrested him.

Police say he is wanted in connection with at least two armed robberies.
