Police: Woman, 91, Was Mauled To Death By Her 2 Pit Bulls
HEMET (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 91-year-old woman who was found dead in her motel room was apparently mauled to death by her two pit bulls.
Elsie Grace was found dead in her room at a Motel 6, in the 3900 block of Florida Avenue, in Hemet Friday morning.
"The victim had a great deal of trauma to her body," Hemet police Lt. Duane Wisehart said. "(At) this time, it appears to be a horrific accident."
Police were called to the motel about noon. An autopsy on Grace, who most recently lived in Desert Hot Springs, is pending, Wisehart said.
Grace and her son were staying at the motel because they were in the middle of relocating and were looking for a new residence in Hemet, Wisehart said. Grace's son was gone at the time of the attack.
The two dogs were seized by animal control officials and are expected to be euthanized.
