Police Seek 4 Suspects Accused Of Assaulting, Robbing 87-Year-Old Pasadena Man

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Police sought the public's help Saturday to identify four suspects accused of assaulting and robbing an 87-year-old man in Pasadena.

Around 5 a.m. Friday, the victim walked in the area of the Rose Bowl on West Drive, just north of Salvia Canyon Road, when he was assaulted and robbed by several suspects, according to the Pasadena Police Department.

Officers explained additional pedestrians who were exercising in the area located the victim on the ground and called 911.

Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital for treatment of major head trauma. He remained listed in critical, but stable condition Saturday evening.

A preliminary investigation revealed the suspects took a pouch that contained money and the victim's personal identification.

According to police, the four suspects were captured on surveillance video at a service station where they attempted to use the victim's credit card.

Detectives described the first suspect as a Hispanic man in his 20s that has dark colored hair, a beard and has a medium build. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, light colored shorts and tennis shoes.

The second suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his early 20s that has short black hair and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweater with a circular design on the front, light colored shorts, and black and white tennis shoes.

According to detectives, the third suspect is a Hispanic man in his 20s that has thick eyebrows and a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and dark colored pants.

The last suspect was described as a Hispanic female teenager that has long brown hair. She was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with white lettering on the front, detectives added.

The suspect vehicle was described as a black 2003 to 2004 Honda Accord Coupe that has a sunroof.
