Pets Rescued From Garage Fire In Hollywood Hills

HOLLYWOOD HILLS (AP) — Los Angeles firefighters have retrieved nine animals from a home that caught fire in the Hollywood Hills.

Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey says firefighters removed four dogs and five cats from the burning home on North Laurel Canyon Boulevard Wednesday night.

Humphrey says no people were hurt, but two dogs and three cats died at the scene. The remaining animals were alive but their conditions were not known.

Humphrey says it took firefighters about 20 minutes to douse the flames.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
