Pedestrian Listed In Critical Condition Following Hit-And-Run Accident In LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police sought the public's help Wednesday in providing information regarding a traffic collision that critically injured a 65-year-old female pedestrian.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, around 7:35 a.m. on Sunday, the victim was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Pasadena Avenue and Avenue 21.

A preliminary investigation revealed the collision occurred when the driver of an older model, dark gray BMW, swerved between lanes while traveling southbound on Pasadena Avenue.

The woman crossed the street outside of a marked crosswalk, and the driver failed to render aid after she was struck, officials added.

Police said the victim sustained a fractured pelvis, dislocated her left leg, had abrasions to her right knee, and suffered from a fractured skull.

She was transported by paramedics to a hospital, where she remains listed in critical condition.
