Pedestrian Killed By Metrolink Train In Orange

ORANGE (CBS) — A pedestrian was killed Monday after being hit by a Metrolink train in the city of Orange.

The collision happened at around 6:25 a.m. on Collins Avenue near Batavia Street, according to spokeswoman Laura Magness.

While an investigation is still ongoing, Magness said the fatality did not occur at a crossing.

"All of our trains are running on schedule," said Magness. "We were able to reroute some of our trains through Fullerton so that we do not hold up other passengers."

The Orange Police Department is investigating the accident, which marks the third fatality involving Metrolink since last week.

Dozens of passengers had to be rerouted last Friday after a man reportedly committed suicide by laying down on the train tracks in Lancaster.
