Pasadena Police Arrest Homeless Man, 27, For Setting 9 Debris Fires

PASADENA (CBS) —  Police in Pasadena Thursday arrested a 27-year-old homeless man suspected of intentionally setting nine debris fires in the city during a 10-day period, a fire official said.

Pasadena resident Juan Boch was arrested about noon on suspicion of arson, according to Lisa Derderian of the Pasadena Fire Department. Derderian said a Pasadena fire investigator identified Boch with the help of a witness.

Derderian would not say where police arrested Boch, who was previously arrested Dec. 1 for setting fire to debris piles in the street.

She said police now have linked Boch to debris fires that were set between Dec. 27 and Jan. 5 in the area between Los Robles Boulevard and Fair Oaks Avenue, north of the Foothill (210) Freeway.
