Officials Probe Death Of 17-Year-Old Boy Gunned Down On Christmas

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Thursday were investigating the death of a 17-year-old boy who was gunned down on Christmas.

Luis Mendez was fatally shot as he walked in the 4500 block of Randolph Street at 10 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Officials say Mendez was chased and fatally shot by four Hispanic male suspects who fled the scene in a white vehicle.

They were last seen heading northbound on King Street from Randolph Street.
