OC Daredevil Behind Cliff Jumping Videos Charged With Trespassing

NEWPORT BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A 28-year-old man who allegedly posted several YouTube videos showing himself recklessly jumping from private rooftops and cliffs in Orange County has been charged with trespassing, authorities said Wednesday.

Anthony Booth Armer, of Laguna Niguel, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of unauthorized entry of a dwelling and one misdemeanor count of trespassing with intent to interfere with business, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

An arraignment date has yet to be determined.

Armer is accused of climbing over a retaining wall onto the gated property of a private residence in Laguna Beach on July 21, then climbing onto the roof of the residence, and jumping into the ocean near Table Rock Beach, officials said.

Nearly two months later, he allegedly climbed over a wall and accessed employee-only areas of the Surf and Sand Hotel in Laguna Beach. He is accused of climbing to the fifth floor of the hotel and jumping into the hotel's gated pool.

According to police, Armer was not a guest of the hotel.

On Oct. 6, he allegedly entered Newport Towers in Newport Beach, ran up several flights of stairs, and jumped from the building's roof to the harbor below.

All three of the incidents were recorded on video and were posted to his YouTube account under the name "8 Booth."

Detectives were able to identify Armer as the person seen trespassing in the videos.

He was subsequently arrested  for an outstanding warrant stemming from two of the trespassing incidents.

After he got out of jail, he spoke to CBS2's Michele Gile.

Amar told her her that the jump off the cliff at Table Rock made his heart jump the most.

She asked him if the arrest would keep him from future death-defying acts.

"Nothing will stop me from doing what I love," he said, his face mostly wrapped in a bandana. "Not even death itself [will stop me]."

Armer was arrested Wednesday morning as he left his house for coffee.

He had a message for his YouTube audience.

"Keep it real," he said.
