Neighborhoods With The Best Holiday Lights In Orange County

Get ready for the holiday season where family and friends gather during the festive season. During the holiday season, there is something special about together and setting up lights as a fun pastime for many families. In fact, for some communities, themes and decorating draws people of all over to admire the holiday lights. Orange County is no exception. Below are some of the best neighborhoods to see some very creative and festive holiday lights in OC.

More than 100 homes participate in the holiday light display in the Eagle Hills neighborhood in Brea, and the popular location during the holidays is a great walk or drive to enjoy the lights, decorations, music and nativity scene in the Orange County area. Some homes even decorate the inside of their homes and allow visitors to take a look. The holiday season is alive and the joy is evident in this neighborhood in Brea.

In the Nellie Gail Road community in Southern California, there have been more than 120,000 Christmas lights choreographed in the past. The free event, which is hosted nightly from 5pm to 9pm until New Year's Eve, features lights which dance to festive music and more. Each year, members of this Orange County community gather together in this location to enjoy the holiday spectacle and take part in the holiday cheer.

The Lorenz family and neighbor Bob Norris in Lake Forest are home to some of the best Christmas lights in the Southern California area. Using more than 40,000 lights that are controlled by computers, The Lorenz family sets it up so they are serenaded by the 89.7 FM radio station music, and the blinking lights are synchronized from both homes. Over the years, the homes have received a great deal of media attention and attract spectators from all over the Southern California region.

The holiday home lighting contest is a sight to see in the Mission Viejo area, where the community is encouraged to decorate in the honor of the holiday spirit in an annual lighting contest. In fact, the top five homes are even given a prize and final results with the winners are presented on December 9. The winners receive a floral centerpiece and a display sign announcing their title. The addresses to the winning homes will be available on the website.

For five consecutive nights, the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade will light up the harbor as one of the areas favorite events. Beginning at Collins Island at 6:30pm and lasting for two and a half hours, the holiday parade of lights features more than 250 ships which participate in the parade along the waterfront. The Ring of Lights waterfront home and business decorating competition provides a wonderful backdrop to the parade and the entire event is free for the public. There is an entry fee for the boats that participate and it has been estimated that more than a million people view the parade every year.
