Man Says He Robbed 2 Banks To Pay For Family's Medical Bills
DANA POINT (CBS) — FBI investigators believe the same man robbed two different banks nearly 13 miles apart in Dana Point and Lake Forest within one hour Thursday.
The first holdup was about 2 p.m. at a U.S. Bank branch at 33621 Del Obispo Road., according to FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller.
The second robbery was about an hour later at a Citibank branch at 23562 El Toro Road in Lake Forest, Eimiller said.
In both robberies the suspect told clerks he was sorry, but he needed the money to help family members pay for medical bills, Eimiller said.
The suspect was described as a skinny white male in his mid-40s about 5- foot-8, Eimiller said. He was unshaven and was wearing a T-shirt, sunglasses and a baseball cap. He also carried a leather-bound notebook.
